Bakersfield, CA – On the early afternoon of Thursday, July 17, 2025, a single-vehicle crash caused serious injuries to one person in southeast Bakersfield, according to KBAK.

CHP reports that the incident occurred shortly before 1:10 PM near the intersection of Vineyard Road and Redbank Road.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to provide aid to the injured party, identified as a woman. She was treated by medical personnel on-site before being transported for further evaluation and care.

The vehicle involved appeared to have left the roadway under unclear circumstances. Investigators with CHP are currently examining the events that led up to the collision, including whether speed, impairment, or mechanical failure played a role. No additional injuries were reported, and no other vehicles were involved.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the incident as they work to determine the factors contributing to the crash.

Single-Vehicle Collisions

In some cases, investigations may reveal that even in a single-vehicle accident, nearby drivers or unsafe road features share some responsibility. California’s Comparative Negligence rule means that, even if those injured in accidents are found partially at fault, they may still be eligible to receive partial compensation for damages.
